What about space?

Even small space can be made to look bigger with the use of ultra wide angle lenses. Are you able to show an entire room in a tight situation?

Good examples of Bad Photography ... Your clients deserve better than this!

These are a few samples that I found on MLS that some Realtors seem to think best represent their image and their clients home. Chances are pretty good that the Realtors themselves took these images and if not, I certainly hope they didn't pay for them. All of these homes were listed at well over 1 million dollars, and this was what the home owner received from the Realtor for photo representation.

The broom is a nice touch! Does it really matter though when the lighting is poor and there is no attention given to squaring up verticals? Photographers are not stagers and shouldn't be expected to clean and move items throughout a home being photographed but to remove a simple item like a broom shouldn't be an issue.

Keep in mind these homes were priced at well over a million dollars. Do you think this is good dollar value for the client when they are paying at the very least, $30,000 in commission? Having professional photographic representation shows your client that you are prepared to do your very best to sell their home. Home owners are becoming more educated in what they expect and what they deserve when giving a Realtor their business. There is much at stake when it comes to selling a home quickly and for top dollar.

See the light!

The latest trend is decorating with dark colours. While white walls and ceilings reflect light around the room, dark colours absorb a great deal of light making little on camera flashes quite ineffective. Powerful strobe lighting can make all the difference in having professional looking images.

Staging and Photography?

Having your listing staged before being Professionally Photographed can make all the difference. Beautifully balanced, pleasing to the eye images will grab the attention of your potential client base. When they can imagine themselves living in the home you are presenting, the sale may not be far off. Extra touches such as staging and professional photographic lighting show your clients that you want the very best representation for them. This particular staging was done by Designamove.
